Anime, The Coolest Japanese Invention

Anime is simply the coolest of Japanese inventions in our time. The term Anime is merely an abbreviation for animation, however, outside of Japan, it specifically refers to Japanese animation! The Japanese are at the top of their game and respected the world over for their clever animation productions, no matter the genre. They produce brilliant animation in action films, children's films, comedy, drama, occult or horror films as well as science fiction. Over two-thousand votes were cast for Anime by Japanese people, in a special pool naming the coolest invention in Japan.

Defining Anime Coolest Japanese Invention

Defining Anime as the coolest Japanese invention doesn't take a lot of thought . The Japanese are such a clever people, who always manage to come up with and introduce to the world, their omit innovative ideas. The uniqueness of Anime is obvious to the viewer as no other type of animation in any genre can be compared to the skill of the Japanese creativity regarding animation. A Japanese film with Anime is easily identifiable immediately because of the artistry involved in the pursuit of the finest production.

20th Century Of Coolest Japanese Invention

The 20th century saw the beginning of Anime. Animators in Japan began experimenting with western techniques being explored in the west. In the 70's Japan developed anime a little further while separating itself from the western genre while developing the Super Robot for one sub-genre. Shows such as Lupin III and Mazinger Z were typical new shows making famous Japanese filmmakers such as Hayao Miyazaki and Marmoru Oshii. The 80's revealed acceptance of Anime in the mainstream in Japan which began a boom in production.

Worldwide Japanese Invention

Later in the 90's and 2000's several series brought Japan worldwide successes, attracting attention from the west. Some of the series realizing success were; Dragon Ball, Sailor Moon, Pokemon, Cowboy Bebop and others, too numerous to mention. In 2004, The Super Dimension Fortress Macross became another worldwide success which gained recognition in the West after it was adapted as the famous Robotech: The Movie, which has become a model for film animation worldwide.

Eventually Japanese Invention

Eventually Anime gained recognition worldwide once again winning the 2003 Academy Award for Best Animated Feature and even more recognition at the 2004 Cannes Film Festival with the film, Innocence: Ghost in the Shell! It is no surprise that Anime IS the coolest Japanese invention.
