Getting Started
A brief overview of the process.
The path from idea to success is complicated, but with the right guidance you can navigate confidently. There are a number of factors that could be discovered along the way
that could reveal the unmarketability of an idea, but you don't know unless you investigate. We start with the quickest and least expensive methods to rule out an idea with low probability of success, only progressing if the idea survives the scrutiny.
Inventor Tip:
Registering your idea early could be vital to keeping your rights. Sometimes it's a race to the patent office, as was the case with the telephone with two patents being filed the very same day. Do you even know the name of the OTHER guy?
We will generally follow this path:
- You fill out the form requesting Inventor's Information on this page.
- The form comes directly to us. It is not shared or sold.
- A Product Manager will contact you by email and/or by telephone within two business days.
- The Product Manager will explain who we are, what we do and how we work. You can ask the questions you want.
- Then, if you want to, you submit your invention idea in writing for our professional review.
- At no cost and no obligation, our senior staff reviews your invention and develops recommendations. This usually takes another business day. Sometimes we'll ask for additional information before forming a recommendation.
- The Product Manager will present and fully explain the recommendations to you. Afterwards, everything will be emailed (or mailed) to you with the exact costs.
- You discuss the opportunity with the Product Manager and make a decision. We will honor your decision and not bother you endlessly.
Note:
- We get many inquiries and cannot work with everyone.
- The review is not a guarantee that an invention is patentable, feasible or marketable.
